Why this is special?

This is a Green pure silk Patola clutch made with hand woven fabric.  Patola weaving is a double ikat weave where each weft thread is thoroughly examined and matched with each part of the warp design pattern while weaving. Tying, untying, retying and dyeing in different shades are the main features of this process. Making of a Patola is labour intensive, time consuming and requires a high order of skill and dexterity, and was thus popular with the aristocrats.
