This is an antique brass Indian ornate locking Tikkabox container. It has six compartments that lock in, by the peacock in the middle being screwed in. Ideally used to store saffron and colorful powders for ceremonial beauty rituals back in the days.
The peacock holds "center court" at the design and perches atop 6 sculptural pods, which each open and close independently. The Peacock, is believed to be a divine symbol of pride and beauty.
